Welcome to my photoblog!
I don't expect you are reading this right now, more likely is that you are from the future, one of my loyal fans who has decided to probe back through the archives all the way to the historic first post. If that is the case, then I heartily thank you for being so dedicated, although must point out that you really ought to have more important things to be doing than looking up old entries into someone's photoblog whom you have probably never met.
Well now you are here, I will tell you a bit about myself and my interest in photography. At the time of writing, I have owned a 'proper' camera for 3 months. Prior to that, I had a Casio p&s which mysteriously vanished during a weekend to Bristol. While I had it though, I took it on a 2 week tour of Israel during which time I decided that photography was for me.
The above photograph was taken the day I got my 'proper' camera, and was the result of some seriously dodgy parking on the roundabout above junction 9 of the M5.
The camera was balanced on the bridge, the shutter was set to 30 seconds, and the rest, as they say...
Comments (and criticism if I'm in a good mood) are welcome and encouraged

Heheh ... nice description. One of the more interesting first posts I've read on Am3. Love the small aperture making those street lamps sparkle. Nice shot.

nice work in the conditions you described - it has come out very well, love the streaks of light and the over all colour tone adds a nice extra touch!

Magnificent! I love the stark contrast of light and dark. Beautiful light trails. Definitely a 5 star image. And yes I am from the future looking back but must get back to what I was doing. It was worth stopping to view your images. Great work.
